The Winteringham squad was a bit thin on the ground for the first of 2 meetings in 3 weeks with the unbeaten town team. The game started in blustery conditions and despite starting the game with 5 in midfield Winteringham could not get a hold of the game and soon found themselves trailing from Galaxy's 3rd corner of the game after 5 minutes.  Worse was to follow 10 minutes later when Winteringham conceded a penalty, Collingwood was unlucky as despite guessing the right way was unable to keep the spot kick out. At this point Winteringham had not troubled the Galaxy keeper but a tactical change back to the more tried and trusted 4-4-2 got Winteringham a foot hold in the game, but shortly before half time a defensive slip allowed Galaxy to increase their lead. The signs were ominous as the players trudged off at half time.  An enforced double substation was forced on manager Ian Brown, replacing  Colly in goal was Ben Griffiths and replacing Mat Graves was Ben Barker. The second half was a much improved performance and whilst Winteringham did force the Galaxy keeper into a few saves in truth they only really looked like scoring once, but unfortunately it was not to be and 2 further goals saw Galaxy run out comfortable 5 nil winners. Special mention should go to both keepers who both had outstanding games. Real Ale Crown are next up - a game the Winteringham team must win in order to get their season back on track.
